#1700 - Sales/Business Development Manager

Location: St. Paul, MN

My client, a growing, global technology company is seeking a Sales Manager who excels at building long-term customer relationships with clients around the world.

The position objective is to win contracts and orders related to the company’s products and engineering services. In this position, you will cultivate relationships with current customers, prospect for new customers and develop your business-to-business sales skills. This individual will have direct customer contact, attend trade shows, and will also be responsible for proposal strategy, managing proposal development, organizing team meetings with customers, and negotiating/closing contracts.

Specific Duties
• Business relationship development and management
• Research potential sales opportunities
• Provide input to bid/no bid decisions
• Develop strategies to win potential opportunity awards
• Manage development of teaming arrangements, where applicable
• Manage internal processing of proposals / occasionally contribute to technical and non-technical portions of the proposals.
• Plan and mange development of oral presentations related to specific proposals or to general business development (professional technical publications, trade show presentations, etc.)
• Contract negotiation
• Travel when required in support of above duties (estimated to be 30-50%)

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Four year degree (Engineering, Business, Marketing) is required
• Five plus years of proven technical sales experience is required.
• Prior international selling and travel experience is a plus
• Prefer experience with any of the following: aerospace; test systems/equipment; large industrial systems; highly engineered, complex products.
• Ability to provide concise, understandable and efficient written and verbal reports and presentations
• Independent problems identification and solution pursuit
• Fluency in an Asian (Chinese, Taiwanese, or Korean preferred) language is a desirable skill
• Experience in managing accounts with government or military procurement agencies is a plus
